After a decade in London, 29-year-old Rona (Saoirse Ronan) returns to the Orkney Islands. Calm but isolated, she tries to suppress her memory of the events that set her on this journey of recovery. Slowly the mysterious land enters her inner world, and – day after day – Rhona finds hope and strength amidst fierce hurricanes and bitterly cold seas.
